Community Family Club

Community Family Club (CFC) is a “community family” focused program that encourages parents and other caring adults within a “community environment” to participate in small group programs with their children ages 5 to 18 years old, a minimum of once a month. Program activities include: pot luck dinner, field trip, special events, informal activity nights, and at-home projects. The key tot he program is in our giving small group leadership skills to parents or other caring adults so that they can act as club leaders for their own children and friends of their children. It also promotes a high level of interaction between youth and adults.

CFC also can be offered through schools, churches, corporation, housing projects and after-school programs. It’s programs and schedules are structured for flexibility to meet the unique needs of each participating group, especially families.

The tangible results participants will experience as a direct result of the program include:

  • New and strengthened family support networks
  • Increased mentoring relationships
  • Increased service to community
  • Increased preference for healthy and safe choices
  • Improved communication skills
  • Increased decision making skills
  • Increased responsibility demonstrated
  • Demonstrated commitment to preserve the environment
  • Youth-led activities

Camp Fire USA believes in being family focused - valuing whatever form family takes in today’s society - because we’re youth centered. And that’s where kids live - with their families. In fact, Camp Fire makes a special effort to reach out to families who, for whatever reason, find other youth development programs inaccessible.
